Where the smell actually comes from

Members notice smell before they notice soiling. It comes from sweat that has passed through the pile into the backing and the padding, and that is the layer we treat.

Entrance matting and the first few metres of carpet take most of the grit on any leisure site, so we treat that zone more aggressively and recommend a shorter cycle for it than for the rest of the floor.
